ITP for resale properties: rates are set by each autonomous community and revised annually in regional budgets. The figures above reflect the general regime in 2026 — many regions offer reduced rates for primary residence, under-35 buyers, large families, and disability.

New-build (IVA + AJD): instead of ITP, you pay 10% IVA (national VAT, reduced to 4% for public housing) + AJD (Actos Jurídicos Documentados, regional stamp duty 0.5-2%). The rates here assume 1.5% AJD — most common.

Not included: annual IBI (0.4-1.1% of cadastral value), annual IRNR imputed-income tax for non-residents, plusvalía municipal on disposal, and legal fees (~1% typical). The full Outpost dossier covers these and Patrimonio (wealth tax) where applicable.
