Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated:

We built Outpost to help honest buyers make better decisions. This policy describes the kinds of behaviour that keep the platform safe and useful for everyone.

1Spirit of the policy

We try to keep rules to a minimum. The summary: use Outpost the way you would expect a thoughtful, ethical person to use it. Don’t scrape us, don’t resell us, don’t weaponise us. Beyond that, build, analyse, and explore freely.

2Permitted use

You are welcome to:

  • Analyse properties you are personally considering for purchase, investment, or relocation
  • Share individual reports privately with your solicitor, surveyor, family, or business partners
  • Reference our reports in correspondence with sellers, agents, or financial institutions
  • Integrate the data into your own personal property research workflow
  • Use the service as part of your work as a buyer’s agent, financial advisor, or relocation consultant — with attribution

3Prohibited use

You must not:

  • Scrape, harvest, or mass-extract data from our service using bots, scripts, or automated tools
  • Republish or resell our reports or underlying data, either commercially or under a different brand, without a written licence
  • Reverse engineer our software, models, or methodology
  • Bypass rate limits, paywalls, account restrictions, or technical protection measures
  • Use the service for fraud — including price manipulation, deceptive listing claims, or misleading a counter-party
  • Submit unlawful content — including properties associated with sanctioned individuals, illegal construction, or known fraud
  • Attempt to compromise the security or integrity of the platform
  • Use the service in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Use the service to harm or harass any individual, including sellers, neighbours, or third parties identified in reports
  • Generate or distribute misleading derivative content using our analyses

4Fair use of our API

When using our paid API, you agree to:

  • Stay within your subscribed rate limits
  • Cache results responsibly to avoid redundant calls
  • Identify your application with a meaningful User-Agent
  • Notify us before launching any large-scale integration
  • Comply with the data licence terms of the underlying public registries

5Enforcement

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy, with or without notice depending on severity. For serious violations — particularly fraud, security breaches, or unlawful conduct — we will also report the matter to relevant authorities and pursue available legal remedies.

6Reporting violations

If you become aware of conduct that violates this policy, please email abuse@outpost.tools. We treat reports confidentially and will investigate promptly.
